SuperSeedWare®

A Revolution In Sweet Corn

SSW®’s are new, gene-type platforms of sweet corn seeds that are protected by US Patent #8,796,504, #8,822,756 and #6,184,438. SSW®’s are the first privately developed gene types in history that dramatically improve the performance of sweet corn seeds under many stress conditions such as, early plantings in colder or wetter soil. Other attributes suggest earlier maturities, stronger stalk and root systems, measurable disease tolerance improvements, overall higher yield potentials, and improved seed storage and shelf life.

These new gene types are a vast improvement over conventional supersweet (sh2r) varieties with highly desirable traits that are 100 percent naturally bred into each variety, improving the performance of the sweet corn seeds, while retaining all of the sweetness, tenderness and holding abilities of original supersweets. Due to SSW®s’ wider adaptability, these new gene types will be used to replace other popular gene types such as sugary, se, and sh2r including heterozygous and homozygous versions.

Compatibility Chart

*For maximum quality and shelf life SSW® varieties, like all other gene types, should only be self-pollinated.  Although SSW® is compatible with other sh2 types, cross-pollination with conventional sh2 may reduce holding ability.  Complete isolation from all non-sh2 types is required.  Typical sweet corn isolation practices (spacing, timing) will suffice.
